A global enterprise with extensive SAP and DB2 footprint is expanding its Pakistan Development center in Lahore.

Role Introduction

Hiring a Senior DB2 Database Administrator to own and optimize mission-critical IBM DB2 LUW environments supporting global SAP systems. This is a hands-on senior role focused on performance, high availability, automation, and future cloud modernization

Requirements

Administer, monitor, tune, and troubleshoot large DB2 LUW instances
Support SAP on DB2 environments (performance, upgrades, issue resolution)
Design, implement, and test HADR and DR strategies
Perform deep SQL/query tuning and database optimization
Implement and automate backup/recovery meeting strict RPO/RTO
Enforce database security, encryption, and audit/compliance requirements
Develop automation scripts (Shell, Python, Perl) and support DevOps practices
Participate in cloud migration and containerization initiatives
Document configurations, procedures, and mentor junior team members

Specifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
10+ years hands-on IBM DB2 LUW administration experience
Strong expertise in DB2 for SAP environments
Proven experience with HADR, failover, replication, and DR testing
Advanced performance tuning (SQL, indexes, memory, MON_GET, db2top)
Solid scripting skills (Bash/KSH, Python, or Perl)
Experience with RHEL, AIX, and Unix variants
Knowledge of database security, SOX compliance, and auditing
Hands-on or intermediate experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Amazon Redshift (strong advantage)
Exposure to AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud and migration projects
IBM Certified Advanced DBA – DB2 LUW highly desirable
AWS/Azure/PostgreSQL/SAP HANA certifications a plus
